The Leonore and Larry (z"l) Zusman-Joint Distribution Committee Fund for Excellency in the Field of Human Services in Israel
The Leonore and Larry Zusman-JDC Fund was established through the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) to encourage and recognize individuals or groups for their excellence, innovation, originality, and initiative in the implementation of programs in the field of social services in Israel. The Fund provides $75,000 annually for the Leonore and Larry Zusman-JDC Prize.
The Prize, which is being awarded in 2012 for the tenth time, highlights awareness of the important role of voluntary and governmental social services and recognizes those who help the less fortunate members of Israeli society. The Prize underscores JDC’s enduring commitment to helping Israel increase the effectiveness of the services it provides to those in need.
In 2012, prizes are being awarded in the following three categories:
· Developing programs and services for the elderly
· Developing infrastructures for volunteerism and social organizations
· Developing communities through the implementation of Gar'inim (intentional communities)
The winner in each category will be awarded a prize of $25,000. The final date for submitting applications is Thursday, November 10th, 2011 (13 Cheshvan 5772).
